Short answer: Toulouse-Blagnac Airport (TLS) is about 3 to 3.5 hours by road from Andorra. The cheapest option is the direct Andbus coach (€36 one way, 4 departures a day, about 3h30 to Andorra la Vella). The most convenient is a private, pre-booked transfer that goes door to door, with fixed prices from €349 per vehicle. Self-drive takes about 3 hours via the A66/N20 and the Pas de la Casa border. From 1 November to 15 May, Andorra requires winter tyres or snow chains.

1. Bus: Andbus direct coach from Toulouse Airport
Andbus runs a direct line Toulouse (Gare Matabiau) → Toulouse-Blagnac Airport → Pas de la Casa → Soldeu → Encamp → Andorra la Vella.
- Where: Arrivals Hall B, in front of door B.
- Departures from TLS: 10:15, 14:15, 18:15 and 22:15, arriving in Andorra la Vella at about 13:45, 17:45, 21:45 and 01:45.
- Price: €36 one way, €64 return (web prices; a cheaper "A-Prime" fare of €20 is also listed).
- No service on 25 December and 1 January.
Pros: cheapest option, and the coach leaves straight from the airport. Cons: the four fixed departures may not match your flight, a delayed flight can mean waiting hours for the next coach, and the stops may still leave you a taxi ride from your hotel.
2. Car rental: driving from Toulouse to Andorra
Most travellers drive A61/A66 → N20 via Foix and Ax-les-Thermes → Pas de la Casa. The trip is roughly 190–200 km and takes about 3 hours in good conditions (approximate).

- Envalira tunnel (2026 toll): €8.10 for a car, €14.20 for vans 2–3 m high. The toll is waived when the Port d'Envalira pass is closed by weather. You can also drive over the pass itself (2,408 m), which is free but slower and more exposed to snow.
- N20 note: a rockfall between Ax-les-Thermes and Mérens-les-Vals closed the N20 from 31 January to 9 March 2026. The road reopened with motion sensors and stop lights. Never stop in the marked zone, and stop immediately if the red light flashes. Authorities have said a further closure will be needed for more works, with no date announced. Check before you go.
- Winter rules in Andorra (1 Nov – 15 May): every vehicle must have winter/M+S tyres or carry snow chains, even on clear roads. In a "red" snow phase, chains are mandatory for all vehicles and the speed limit is 30 km/h.
- Check conditions: mobilitat.ad and meteo.ad (Andorra), Bison Futé / DIRSO (France).
Pros: full flexibility. Cons: mountain driving after a flight, winter equipment (ask whether the rental includes it), one-way fees if you return the car elsewhere, and weekend queues at the Pas de la Casa border.
3. Train + shuttle via L'Hospitalet-près-l'Andorre
There is no train into Andorra. Take a TER from Toulouse Matabiau on the Toulouse–Latour-de-Carol line to Andorre-L'Hospitalet. There are about 4 trains a day, taking 2h54 to about 3h50, with fares from about €10. From there, the Hife Andorra shuttle, timed to meet the trains, runs to Pas de la Casa (€19) or Andorra la Vella (€44). Book online; cash is preferred on board.
Coming from the airport, you first need to get to Matabiau (tram/airport shuttle), so allow 4+ hours in total. This option works well for scenery but poorly for ski bags and late arrivals.
4. Taxi
Licensed taxis wait at TLS. A metered fare to Andorra is long-distance and not fixed. Ask for a written price before departure and confirm tolls and night or weekend surcharges.
5. Private transfer (pre-booked, fixed price)
A private transfer means a professional driver waiting at arrivals and taking you straight to your hotel or chalet, with the price agreed in advance. You don't need winter driving skills or to fit chains, and you don't need to fit your flight around a timetable.
ANDY has been based in Andorra since 2021 and runs this route every day:
| Vehicle | Toulouse ↔ Andorra (fixed, per vehicle) |
|---|---|
| Comfort | €349 |
| Van | €399 |
| Van XL | €409 |
- Flight tracking included: if your flight is late, the driver adjusts.
- Free cancellation up to 24h before pickup.
- Rated 4.8/5 on Trustpilot.
For a group of 4–7 people, a van can cost less per person than self-drive once you add rental, fuel, tolls and winter equipment. → Book a Toulouse Airport to Andorra la Vella transfer
Winter and ski-season tips
- Ski resorts: Pas de la Casa is the first town after the French border, so it's the shortest trip. Grandvalira's Soldeu and El Tarter sectors are further in, past the Envalira tunnel or pass. See transfers to Pas de la Casa, Soldeu, El Tarter and Grandvalira ski area.
- Saturday changeover days bring the heaviest border and N20 traffic. Add a buffer for return flights.
- Snow days: the Envalira pass can close. The tunnel stays open, and its toll is waived when the pass is closed.
- Luggage: tell your transfer company about skis and snowboard bags so they can send the right vehicle size.
Border and customs: what to know
Andorra is not in the EU and is not part of the Schengen area. Its customs union with the EU covers industrial goods only, so there is a real customs post at Pas de la Casa. Bring your passport or national ID card. When you go back to France, duty-free allowances apply per adult (17+), for example 300 cigarettes (or 150 cigarillos / 75 cigars / 400 g tobacco), 1.5 L spirits (>22%) or 3 L ≤22%, plus 5 L still wine. Goods worth up to €900 per traveller aged 15 or older are also duty-free. Declare anything above these limits. Expect checks and queues on the way out of Andorra.
